About Susan
Susan Chrisman graduated summa cum laude from John Brown University with a degree in Music Education. She has been married for thirty-one years to Jerry and they have five children, ages ranging from twenty-eight to sixteen; one is married and has two sons (ages two and four), two are attending college, and one is still being educated in the home. Jerry and Susan were pioneer homeschoolers, beginning their journey in home education in 1985.

Susan has taught children and adults in Sunday School class settings, Bible studies, and children’s choirs. She has written Sunday School curriculum, Bible studies, a children’s musical and children’s choir works.

Jerry and Susan have served on the OCHEC board of trustees since 2001. Jerry is currently serving as President and Susan is the Leaders’ Retreat Coordinator. She speaks annually at the OCHEC Homeschool Convention and has spoken to support groups and Bible study groups across the state. Susan is publishing a resource for homeschooling moms: The Practical Planner for Home Education which will be available early this spring. She co-directs the Oklahoma City Charlotte Mason Discussion Group, and has started a resource service called At Home with Charlotte Mason to encourage moms in the training and education of their children through resources and seminars founded upon scripture and practically based upon the philosophy of Charlotte Mason.

Susan’s heart and calling are to guide moms in understanding the true education of the whole person, an application of Mark 12:30: "Thou shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength."
